Christmas balloon trees.. New Year’s ceiling clusters and theme balloons.. car dealership winter colors and the season’s newest star, “Baby Yoda” from Disney +’s “The Mandolorian”, who, a year from now will likely have many theme balloons to use for party decor.
Showroom Store Balloon Decor
For big sales events or a plan to change decor monthly, balloons can add a sense of season and celebration for your customers.
And the same kind of decor can be used in schools and corporate cafeterias.
Gold and Mint Green Color Theme
These “4+1” arrangement centerpieces feature a star weight and star foil balloon with 4 latex balloon all on the same level below the foil. It is a popular arrangement useful especially where there might be low ceilings.
The foil on top could be any shape and theme foil of various sizes 17 inches and up.

Effects of sun/heat/time
A shore location, the new “The Mainland Adventure Park” at the Holiday Inn in Manahawkin NJ grand opening event set for 6pm on Friday. Because route 72 gets notoriously busy Friday afternoons in the summer I dropped off the columns midday knowing they would be stored inside the hotel lobby. After the event they used the columns outside the entrance to the park. Probably left them outside overnight. The next day around 2pm they looked like this:There are multiple pops. Sun, humidity, wind and wind-borne particles can do damage. Also lower temps and dew at night can make balloons stick together.. then when the sun expands them the next day it can cause pops.If I had known they wanted multiple day use I would have left some spares with them and instruction/coaching on replacing pops. And I would have advised taking them inside overnight.

Backyard Baby Shower for Boy
Above balloon clusters marked the mailbox and driveway leading to the gate to the backyard below.
Not shown is a bunch of tables with big white umbrellas and hot air balloon centerpieces.
Below is a large stuffed elephant with a cluster of 40-some balloons.
Windy day.. the big bunch moved around quite a bit. It is on a 10 pound weight and the cloud below is wrapped around the ribbon bunch. The elephant is sitting atop the cloud.. and is tied together with the ribbon bunch to look like he is holding it. A couple 4-ft dowel rods help keep the elephant and cloud from tilting too far in any direction (unseen).
The major piece is the table shown plus the flower wall which is accented with the organic balloon Garland shown. It was created in 2 pieces with some 100+ balloons of a dozen or more various sizes and shades.
You can see the client’s lovely hot air balloon centerpieces below.
We only do the balloons. Everything else was done by the very talented and industrious client family.
Tall balloon columns, or towers, for a strap and repeat backdrop
Very early delivery to hotels is always nice. By now the client has setup a step&repeat backdrop for photos of guests and these yellow and silver columns will be placed on either side.
Windy columns number year arch in tent
The large green balloons were supposed to be column toppers but they would not fit this position for the columns. Windy gusty afternoon, so columns were aligned with tent poles for support and lashed to them with elastic balloons.
The helium numbers were difficult as well. Normally, indoors, a single line from column to column is used and the line is taped to the bottom of the letters or numbers. In this case the numbers were blowing over almost flat and then outside the tent. Running a second line across the top tent supports and taping it to the top-back of the numbers gave the support they needed to not blow sideways.

Sweet 16 Entry Arch
colors are spring lilac, gray and white with silver 34 inch numbers.
Pre-Prom photo backdrop columns gold and silver
Had an issue where 4 gold 34inch letter Rs failed on inflation and I had none left. A silver R worked. Then I cut out the face of a failed gold R and taped it the silver R stretching it tight where I could. Photos looked good and that was the point.
Organic Balloon Garland Arch
This organic style balloon garland was made in two 9-ft strings with 3 different balloon sizes (11, 16, 36) inflated to varying degrees… Nothing over 2ft inflated. 6 different color families and something like 15 different shades.
From the left we have orange, coral, wildberry, rose, pink, goldenrod, yellow, lime, tropical teal, blue, Robin’s egg blue, light blue and, unseen from this angle, dark green and lilac.
Rainbow Colors Theme Single Arch
A rainbow 6-balloon tree on each table and behind the podium… And a long single arch on weights for the room.
Pink and Purple Banded Packed Arch
Bands of pink and lilac balloons in a good sized packed arch on a breezy day. Banded patterns work better than spirals when the arch might twist in the wind outdoors.
Blue Gold Silver 75th Birthday
At The Elora banquet Hall in Edison, NJ.. saphire blue, gold and silver columns and arch with a 75 for a 75th Birthday celebration.
1950s Soda Float Balloon Columns
Recently had an opportunity to help turn a nice family room into a malt shop look for a fifties party. Qualatex colors are mostly Rose (pink), White, Black and Tropical Teal with an undersized red balloon as the cherry on top. Some silver and clear balloons complete the look.
I used 2 Clik-Magnets and mono-filament line to connect the two wrought iron chandeliers with 5 12-balloon clusters. The client did lot of work around the home making each room’s look uniquely 1950s. The furniture here was largely moved out of the way and the client found a nice black and white checkerboard floor covering. At teh bottom of the photo you see the backs of a few daisy-clusters on the stair railing.

Balloon Decorations for Outdoor Parties
Here are balloon decorations that work outdoors.
This cluster streamer has its own weight (bottom-right of photo.. see how much room is needed for it to move in breeze)…
…tied to tent poles.
For open spaces like a large lawn or courtyard, the cluster streamer works real well and can match any color scheme. This example is tropical colors (in the perfect morning light) before they got placed at their intended locations.
Single balloon streamers tied to tent poles
Inside tents and gazebos these air-filled clusters can often be rigged up.
Even single balloons in various sizes can be stung on rigged lines..
The air-filled tent decor seen above can be installed the prior day in most cases.
If the tent is so large that it is hard to rig lines for air-filled clusters you can go to helium-filled cluster lines created on the day of the event.
The ends of the cluster line arch have to be attached to *something*.. in the first case, border fences.. other examples have been trees, tent poles, light poles, fixtures on a building… while it can work on weights you always have to be aware of where people might be walking.
The daisy on rails look is very nice. Also works on tent poles, light poles and even trees. And if you make them a solid color without a contrasting middle, that works also.
Some public parks allow balloons. NJ State parks do not. But often you will find picnic areas and groves with structures like these.
This gazebo made it easy to run lines with air clusters inside the gazebo. Without the cross beams on the ends, I would likely need to use helium clusters inside.
On the outside a line can be run and drape single air-filled balloons.
Really tall columns make a statement as well.. though positioning them next to tent poles or similar structures for added support might be necessary.
If you need something directly on a table you want something the wind won’t get a hold of.. This table piece has 8 5-inch balloons on a shiny spray weight. I’d probably use red and blue weights similar to this one and use your colors. Somewhat flexible to color schemes using different color weights and balloons.
Of course the big helium arches work..
as well as smaller air-filled arches…
Enjoy your backyard or pool party or outdoor event and make it an instantly recognizable celebration with balloons!
80th Birthday Cafe Azzuro, Peapack
Cafe Azzuro was quite nice with a friendly staff and is BYO. Did gold and pearl white 80 column as a focal point / photo backdrop and table centerpieces and balloon trees added both “80” and Happy Birthday balloons. Gold and pearl white with stars-around clear beneath the foil theme balloons.
Backyard Princess Rapunzel Tangled Party
Packed arch in pink, rose, lilac and yellow with print colors Daisy balloon clusters tie to a fence. Windy day made the arch a bit less than perfect.
Jungle Animal Theme

Grand Opening West Marine
A nice big West Marine store opened in Woodbridge, NJ today and we got to create a nice double-door-sized packed arch in their royal blue and white colors. They also got a large number of foil star balloons that might last them the whole week. BTW.. the packed arch could last several weeks indoors.

New Years Eve at Mountain Creek, Vernon, NJ 2016-2017
Popular winter sports resort close to New York City had a New Years Eve bash in their Biergarden and Schuss Lounge (over the Biergarden all in Red Tail Lodge, complete with midnight fireworks over the slopes. Balloon décor included 40 balloon trees, 10 small centerpieces and 7-foot and 9-foot balloon columns all in black, gold, silver and black stars-a-round prints.
Jungle Safari Balloons revisited
We have been getting some calls recently for jungle and safari theme pieces because, well, everyone loves animals! So here is a color theme based on the safari print colors, animal colors and a lime green for the jungle. Below are an arch and columns, 4+1 centerpieces with the large animal foils and some columns and balloon trees in the last photo.
World’s Largest Car Wash
Got a call to do balloon columns for the grand opening of a car wash in Lawrenceville NJ. I assumed it was for outdoor use. But when I asked about a possible rainout, I learned this was for an inside event. It did not strike me as odd then, but 6 columns for inside a car wash? How could they have room for that?
Well… It turns out that Valet Auto Wash off Route 1 North in Lawrenceville NJ is the world’s largest car wash!
Sweet Sixteen revisited
We are posting this Sweet 16 event from 2014 because it shows a rare name arch without columns. The arch line needs to end somewhere. We usually use 5 foot or taller columns on the ends so people could pass beneath it or the columns can be placed next to a table. For a line to go to a weight on the floor you need a large wall. This wall had doors outside, but we were assured the doors would remain closed.. but still, we added clusters to pull the line up at those doors and placed single balloons so guests would see the line in the way should they try to use those doors.
Purple and Gold Grand Opening
The balloon colors of violet and goldenrod were used for some columns and balloon trees and an outdoor cluster streamer for a grand opening OVOX gym in Morganville, NJ. The 4-letter company name was made in 14 inch gold letters stuck together with 3m poster mount strips and tied to the column top with a long thin uninflated balloon so it would “spring” downward and stay snug.
